This is 11″ Authentic OEF Gurkha Afghan Issue Khukuri | Hand-forged Kukri | Brown Sheath by Ex Gurkha Khukuri. It is one of the latest khukuri produced by EGKH. The OEF khukuris are the genuine khukuris used by the Gurkha regiment from the British Army during their mission Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan. It is a very popular khukuri amongst knife collectors due to the fact that it was armed by the Gurkha soldiers and was used in hand-to-hand combat in Afghanistan. It is one of the most authentic military knives ever issued to British Gurkha soldiers by the British Army. This khukuri was not mandatory for all British soldiers who were in Afghanistan but those who liked to have it could have this khukuri. In the military, the khukuri is inspected regularly by an officer and is usually used during Training and Duty.

This handle on this 11″ Authentic OEF Gurkha Afghan Issue Khukuri is quite different from other khukuris and is great for working and very comfortable to use. It is a full tang handle that is 5 inches in length and made from Indian rosewood. The handle has grips for better control over the khukuri. The razor-sharp 11-inch blade is made from highly graded 5160 carbon steel with a balanced oil-quenching temper and is very strong. The scabbard is made from pinewood covered in water buffalo leather.

All Khukuris have two pockets on the back of the scabbard which hold a blunt steel called “Chakmak” for sharpening the blade or for creating sparks by striking it to a flint and a little knife known as “Karda” used for skinning small animals such as rabbits.
