The fixed blade is forged from high-grade carbon steel that consists of layers of low carbon & high carbon 5160 steel mixture by hand hammering many times. The hardness of the 4″ Custom Handmade Utility Backup Knife is up to 56-58 HRC on the Rockwell scale providing a sharp edge that is designed for long-periods of use. We employed precision heat-treating methods to provide razor sharpness with the most enduring edge. Making carbon steel is a refined method of forging steel where the anvil and the hammer determine just what kind of knife is made each time. There may be slight imperfections but that only makes each knife much more unique.
The handle is made from rosewood and is 4.5-inch in length. The scabbard is made of refined water buffalo leather. The durable brown sheath protects you from the edge of the khukuri and avoids any harm and damage with quick and easy access to the knife.
We provide high-quality materials to our Kaamis or blacksmiths to hand forge this beautiful knife. With the quality that is built to last, this stylish 4″ Custom Handmade Utility Backup Knife can be a souvenir item for knife collectors. You can also gift it to a loved one who may need a pocket utility knife on outdoor adventures like camping, hunting, hiking, etc.
Tips to take care of your knife:
- Never store your knife for a long time in a leather sheath.
- Leather can absorb water, which will rust the knife while decreasing the lifespan of the leather. So, try to avoid leather materials from getting soaked in water. If they get wet, dry them gently at ambient temperature. Don’t dry leather materials in a hot dryer, radiator, or direct sunshine.
- Always clean the blade with oil or wax after using it.
- You will also receive an enclosed leaflet on how to take proper care of the knife.
