The 10″ American Eagle Khukuri features a semi-polished blade with oil quenching temper that can be used by soldiers in the field in day-to-day operations, and by farmers in the Himalayan region for daily chores and survival tasks.
US$ 124.00
This 10″ American Eagle Khukuri is one of the beautiful Khukuris (also called “Kukri” or “Khukri”) models of the Ex Gurkha Khukuri House (EGKH). The name “American Eagle” derives from the American Bald Eagle which is the national symbol of the United States. The pommel at the bottom of the handle is shaped like the head of an eagle. This particular design is very famous among US Knife collectors. The blade is multi-purpose camping and bushcraft knife and survival tool, used for a wide range of purposes like making camp, clearing bushes, preparing firewood, cutting meat & vegetables, and other heavy-duty outdoor works. These knives are used by soldiers in the field in day-to-day operations, and by farmers in the Himalayan region for daily chores and survival tasks.
The American Eagle Khukuri is a handcrafted knife & each one might have slight variations in measurement. We have beautifully hand-forged the blade on this khukuri by our skilled craftsmen in the eastern part of Nepal. Our craftsmen forged the 10-inch blade from highly graded 5160 carbon steel (SUV/ Car springs, leaf springs).
Our craftsmen are from the “Kami“/”Biswakarma” castes who are the traditional inheritors of the art of khukuri-making by using the top quality materials in a very traditional way with traditional tools. The blade is semi-polished and has gone through tough oil quenching tempering. The full tang handle is about 5.5-inch made of Rosewood and includes a Lanyard hole. The scabbard is made of soft cottonwood wrapped in mountain yak hide. This is also a beautiful souvenir or a gift item for a blade lover as well.
This Khukuri does NOT include Karda & Chakmak (Small utility knives).
Origin: Dharan, East Nepal.
