This is a 4″ Panawal Paper Khukuri | Genuine Full Tang Raw Blade Kukri. This khukuri also called kukri or khukri by many people outside Nepal) is similar to the Angkhola khukuri which has a groove on the blade, except the handle. It has a 4-inch unpolished blade made from highly graded 5160 carbon steel. We have semi-polished the blade with a balanced oil-quenching temper to make the edges strong and durable.
The handle is unique compared to other khukuri, the metal of the blade in the handle area is flat (full tang) and can be seen running through the length of the handle. It is made of two rosewood pieces joined strongly from both sides with two rivets which makes it stronger than the other khukuri handles. The scabbard is made from softwood covered in water buffalo hide. It will protect your knife from damage when not in use and provide several versatile carry options.
The 4″ Panawal Paper Khukuri is a pocket utility knife that can be used for outdoor adventures like hunting, camping, hiking, etc. The knife performs tasks like cutting paper, opening letters, peeling, skinning, etc.
This khukuri is handcrafted by the famous & very skilled “Bishwakarmas” ( generational blacksmiths of Nepal ) using very high-quality materials in a very traditional method & using traditional hand tools. It is not made of stainless steel, so please read the leaflet enclosed when you receive the knife for care instructions. High carbon steel has a better ability to maintain a sharp edge than stainless steel. This type of steel will assist you with a perfect cut every time. With reasonable maintenance after every use, it will last a long lifetime.
Tips to Care for the Knife:
- Never store your knife for a long time in a leather sheath.
- Leather can absorb water, which will rust the knife while decreasing the lifespan of the leather. So, try to avoid leather materials from getting soaked in water. If they get wet, dry them gently at ambient temperature. Don’t dry leather materials in a hot dryer, radiator or sunshine.
- Always clean the blade with oil or wax after using it.
