18″ Chitlange Superior Light Version Khukuri | Traditional Kukri is a handmade, high-quality, and traditional farmer Khukuri knife. It originated in the small hilly village called “Chitlang” which is situated in the eastern part of Nepal. Hence the name of this traditional khukuri “Chitlange Superior Light Version Hunting Khukuri” is derived from its village of origin “Chitlang”. This is the newer, nicer, and better version of the old Chainpure Khukuri. Our team of traditional Nepalese blacksmiths, called Kaami, forged it at our factory in Nepal. Nepalese blacksmiths have been using traditional tools to forge blades for generations. We made this khukuri knife from 5160 High Carbon Steel with a balanced oil tempering of the edge.

This 18″ Chitlange Superior Light Version Khukuri | Traditional Kukri has a blade with a large bevel from the tip all the way down to the notch making the khukuri very special and rare as this is a difficult process of crafting even for the skilled craftsman costing them more effort and time.  The 18-inch blade is heat-treated & subjected to balanced tempering, giving it excellent strength and durability. The large elongated bevel is forged to withstand the hardest blow, and severest impact and to make cutting easier and more effective. The handle is 6.5 inches long full tang Blocker handle made of rosewood. The scabbard is made of pinewood covered in water buffalo leather. The Chitlange Superior Light Version Hunting Khukuri is truly an all-rounder and a collective cutting and exhibiting item.

The 18″ Chitlange Superior Light Version Khukuri | Traditional Kukri has a blade with polished finish with a spine that tapers towards the tip. The polished finish adds to its authentic appeal. We made this khukuri knife boast a sharp & versatile cutting edge. The blade has an upper spine thickness of 7mm. The blade has a steel hardness of 22-25 RC at the spine with belly hardness of 45-46 RC, and edge hardness of 58-60 RC. The knife’s total weight of 1500 gm, with the blade weighing just 1150 grams, ensures it is a well-balanced and agile tool.

A Karda & Chakmak are included with this khukuri. Karda is a sharp knife that can be used to cut fruits & vegetables, open tin cans, etc. The Chakmak is a blunt steel that can be used to hone the khukuri blade or used to produce sparks for fire with fire steel or flint. This khukuri along with all our other blades are backed & covered by the EGKH Warranty to ensure you’re at peace of mind while ordering or using it.
