This is Classic Vintage Officer’s Khukuri | British India Inter-War period Kukri | Gurkha Jungle Full Tang Blade hand forged by the Ex Gurkha Khukuri House Nepal. This is the actual jungle PRI issue khukuri but is specially developed to carry out different jungle tasks. The khukuri(often called “kukri” or “khukri” by westerners) is heavier than the standard jungle PRI issue and has got full tang handle. 10″ blade is unpolished for real jungle use with a full flat tang handle made to carry out heavy tasks with maximum impact force by the blade. It is designed for rough use, so, no finishing (shinning) has been done on the blade. The handle is strongly joined with the blade by two rivets. The khukuri has got a lanyard hole on the handle for safety. The scabbard is made of water buffalo leather wrapped up in two pinewood pieces which are joined by a strong traditional glue (“Laha“) and has got a single loop frog. The raw finishing of the blade prevents the blade from losing its temper and makes it a real working blade. The notch (“kaura” or “kaudi”) on the blade near the hilt of most khukuris serves as a conduit for the blood to drip out from the blade , thus preventing it from soiling the hilt, as well as a device for catching and neutralizing and enemy blade. The handle is more practical, more beautiful.

The scabbard has two pockets on the back which hold a blunt steel called “chakmak” for sharpening the blade or striking spark with flint and a little knife known as “karda” used for skinning small animals such as rabbits. The thickness of the spine of this khukuri is 10mm. This type of khukuri is commonly used by farmers in Nepal. The Khukuri can be used as a survival knife or camping knife for outdoor explorers.
