The Jungle of PRI type is the official combat issue of the Gurkha regiment. This 10.5″ British Gurkha Jungle Combat Issue PRI Khukuri (often called “kukri” or “khukri” in the west) is the unpolished standard size khukuri used by Gurkha soldiers for tactical jungle warfare. When the Gurkha soldier joins the British Army they get this khukuri during the training sessions. It is also perfect for rough use because of the unpolished blade. This is the tactical khukuri that is used for jungle warfare by the Gurkhas. Therefore, it is called jungle khukuri or PRI-type khukuri. The shape and size of this khukuri is similar to service no.1 khukuri.
This PRI type Khukuri is lightweight measuring only 750 grams with its scabbard. This is an entirely unpolished standard-sized khukuri. It has a 10 ½ inch long sharp blade and with the handle, it is 16” long. The 10.5-inch blade is made of strong carbon steel. It has a 5.5-inch long rat-tail tang handle which is made of water buffalo horn. The casing is made of pinewood wrapped in a camo fabric or cloth that helps you to conceal your khukuri out in the jungle. You may utilize it for rough use in forests, or outdoors as a hunting knife.
