The 10.5 inches Gurkha Service Rust Free Gripper Handle Kukri is the official combat issue of the Gurkha regiment. This Jungle/Hunting Khukuri (kukri) is the Current Issue of the British Gurkhas. This Black shiny standard-size khukuri comes with a very strong full-tang gripper handle which is 5.5 inches long and a 10.5-inch long blade made from highly graded 5160 carbon steel. The scabbard is made of Buffalo hide and the Rosewood is used for making the handle.
The khukuri is used by the Gurkha soldiers during their tactical jungle warfare and jungle training. During the training sessions in 2010, the Gurkha soldiers were offered this khukuri by the British Army. This tactical khukuri is used for jungle warfare & jungle training by the Gurkhas. Therefore it is called “Gurkha Service Rust Free Gripper Handle Kukri”. It is also perfect for rough use because of the Black shine blade, you may utilize it for rough use in forests as a hunting knife.
This Khukuris has a pocket on the back of the scabbard which holds a little knife known as “karda” used for skinning small animals such as rabbits. There is a notch (“kaura” or “kaudi”) in the blade near the hilt of this khukuri which serves as a conduit for the blood on the blade to drip out, thus preventing it from soiling the hilt, as well as a device for catching and neutralizing and enemy blade.
