This 10″ Military Jungle Combat Khukuri | Panawal Sirupate Raw Kukri Knife is one of the famous & popular khukuris (also called kukris or khukris by most people outside Nepal) of all Nepalese people. It is a traditional Sirupate khukuri used by the people living in the rural villages of Nepal. The name “Sirupate” is derived from the word “Siru” which is a species of grass that has very narrow and sharp leaves. Unlike other types of khukuris the blade of the sirupate khukuri is very narrow that provides for a razor-sharp cutting.

This khukuri has a 10-inch unpolished blade and is made of highly graded 5160 carbon steel with a balanced oil quenching temper on the edge of the blade that makes it very strong. There is a 5-inch full tang handle that is made from rosewood. The scabbard is made of cottonwood wrapped in Yak leather.

This blade can be used to chop wood and bone or to clear bushes and many other kinds of domestic and outdoor works. It can be used as a survival knife or a hunting knife as well. People in Nepal carry this knife when going to the jungles for collecting firewood and to defend themselves from potential predators and wild animals.

There are two small utility knives (Karda & Chakmak ) in the pocket at the back of the scabbard. Chakmak is the blunt steel knife that is used for sharpening the blade or creating a spark with a flint. The other little sharp knife is Karda which is used for skinning small animals such as rabbits or for cutting fruits.

There is a notch (kaura or kaudi) in the blade near the hilt of the khukuri which serves as a conduit for the blood on the blade to drip out, thus preventing it from soiling the hilt and as well as a place for catching and neutralizing an enemy blade.
