11″ Himalayan Dragon Scale Khukuri | Special Machha Katle Kukri

This is an 11″ Himalayan Dragon Scale Khukuri | Special Machha Katle Kukri by Ex Gurkha Khukuri House. This khukuri (also called kukri or khukri by many people outside Nepal) with beautiful craftsmanship is hand forged by local Kaamis (Nepalese blacksmiths) who mostly belong to the “Bishwakarma” caste and have been making khukuris for many generations in Nepal. The hand-hammered pattern helps to reduce the weight of the knife and adds beauty to the blade.

The knife is made from highly graded 5160 carbon steel and the handle out of rosewood. The blade is made to minimize rust with a balanced oil-quenching temper on the edge making it very strong. This knife is hardened differentially in the body, bevel, and spine in order to increase its durability. The handle is also very strong as the rosewood has been strongly riveted to the metal of the blade that runs through the entire handle length. The scabbard is made from pinewood and wrapped in natural water buffalo hide. There is a chape made from the brass at the tip of the scabbard that protects the pointed tip of the blade.

This khukuri is specially designed for working on farms as this design is mostly used by village farmers in Nepal. It can be used for cutting wood, firewood, bone, meat, clearing bushes, etc. It is also a good camping knife due to its size & weight.
