This is 12″ Historical World War Gurkha Khukuri | Authentic Gurkha Kukri Knife by Ex Gurkha Khukuri House. The khukuri (also called kukri or khukri by many people outside Nepal) itself is a reproduction of an old World War I era khukuri. This khukuri is very famous among Military Knife collectors because of the fact that the very design of this khukuri was carried and used by the Gurkhas in hand-to-hand battles in the Jungle of Burma during the first world war. It played a very significant role in creating the history of the Gurkhas in the past.
We re-constructed the khukuri with customizations made in the weights, its thickness, handle (eg. lanyard hole) and scabbard to make it useful in today’s modern world scenario. It has a 12-inch long extremely sharp blade made from highly graded 5160 carbon steel and is semi-polished. There is a beautiful 5.5-inch strong & durable full-tang handle made from rosewood. Two pieces of rosewood are strongly riveted to the metal of the blade, one on each side to make the handle of this khukuri. The lanyard hole on the handle is added customization made by Ex Gurkha Khukuri House.
The scabbard of this khukuri is made from pinewood wrapped in refined water buffalo leather dyed to a brown color. Moreover, the scabbard has the royal khukuri cross logo of the Gurkha Regiments of the British Army and a beautiful hand-etched design on the Chape (metallic tip). Overall the khukuri has amazing craftsmanship and satisfying looks.
This 12″ Historical World War Gurkha Khukuri is a great tool to use for any kind of heavy-duty work. It can be used to chop wood, firewood, bone, meat, and clear bushes & vines.
There are two small accessory knives in the back pockets of the scabbard. There is one sharp knife called Karda used for skinning animal hairs & skin. The other knife called Chakmak has a blunt edge used for sharpening the blade and creating sparks by striking it to flint.
The craftsmanship on this knife is amazing. So, if you are looking for the finest quality Kukri you will not be disappointed. It is hand forged by Kaamis who belong to the Bishwakarma caste which is an ethnic group of traditional craftsmen of Nepal who have been forging khukuris for generations with the best quality materials in a traditional forging method by using traditional hand tools.
