This is 13-inch Gurkha WW (World War) Machete Khukuri (also called “kukri” or “khukri” by most people outside Nepal). Basically carried in a leather case, it has a walnut wood finish grip. This unpolished 13-inch (33.02cm) blade is made of highly graded carbon steel (mostly used in railway tracks, Car & Jeep leaf spring). The water temper on the blade makes it very strong. The handle is a 6-inch long full tang made from rosewood. The scabbard is made of pinewood covered in water buffalo leather.
Not everyone needs a machete Khukuri, but if you do, you need it for a reason. Designed for utility, the Gurkha WW Machete Khukuri is based on a traditional tool from the Homeland of the Gurkhas. This 13-inch Gurkha WW Machete Khukuri comes with some customization with subtle updates for modern-day use that includes an ergonomic handle shape with a hefty full tang construction to stand up to repeated heavy use. Its distinctive shape—pointed tip, wide midsection, narrow neck near the handle—comes from centuries old history when it was made to be used as a multi-purpose tool that could double as weapon for self defense.
The Khukuri knife played a very significant role in creating the history of the Gurkhas. This khukuri is also a great tool to use for any kind of heavy-duty or light tasks. The handle is very strong compared to older World War II khukuris.
