The Tulwar- Kora handled Kukri was used in Nepal at least by the early 1800´s. I use the term “Tulwar-Kora” because the general form of the hilt, being a design that draws its influence from the Tulwar and Kora Sword, not only the one or the other. Some of the hilts have more of a Tulwar design while others remind of the Kora sword. Most often the marriage of these two styles is found combining elements from the Tulwar and Kora. Sirupate blade with Koftgari decorated base, metal handle in form of Tulwar & Kora Sword.
